JULY 2015 - Our exam results have arrived and once again everyone has done extremely well. The results were an exact 50/50 split between Merit and Distinction grades. Congratulations to all my hard working pupils (and parents). Thank you for your commitment :)
MAY 2015 - Congratulations to 9 year old Lily who has been offered a second year as a Royal Ballet School Junior Associate. A MASSIVE achievement Lily. Congratulations :)
MARCH 2015 - Once again the pupils who took part in the Ellesmere Port dance festival enjoyed great success, with every dance we entered gaining a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th place. More importantly we all thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the competition that took place over the course of two weekends. Well done everybody. :)
FEBRUARY 2015 - I am very pleased to tell you about a new training method that I am introducing to the timetable. This method is called 'Progressing Ballet Technique' and is suitable for pupils aged 7+ years.
Progressing Ballet Technique has been over fifteen years in the making by a very highly regarded Australian ballet educator, Marie Walton-Mahon. It has been adopted by many top teaching establishments in Australia and is now being introduced both here in the UK and the USA. This includes Birmingham Royal Ballet who use the Advanced Programme in their company classes etc.
Progressing Ballet Technique is an exercised based programme that supplements traditional ballet class teaching methods. The aim is to strengthen the students ballet technique by encouraging 'muscle memory'. From the first moment I was introduced to the exercises I have been extremely impressed, and feel that it will be a real asset to our students training.
I have completed the very first teacher training session to be held in Europe (and am now a fully certified and licensed Progressing Ballet Technique teacher). This was in London with just twenty two teachers in attendance.
If you would like to read more about Progressing Ballet Technique online there is plenty to be found. There are also some very informative videos on YouTube including one where the creator & producer, Marie Walton-Mahon explains about the programme in her own words. It is the 'Junior Programme' that you will be looking for.
